Live life happy, and never settle for something that you don’t like or don’t want to do.
After I’ve scheduled my emails for the next 7 days and before I start to pack for my 6th trip away of the year so far, it got me thinking about one area of our lives that are not often talked about with this ‘online thing’ – time freedom.
I sometimes talk and go off on one about how its great not to be told what to do by a boss you don’t like and how commissions come in while you’re asleep, but know what one of the best things about living the Internet Lifestyle is? The ability to chose when and where you work.
A few months ago Anna asked me to block out the time for this trip, I didn’t have to worry about using up some of my 28 days a year holiday allowance, or taking unpaid leave – it was a ‘sure’.
Its often said that ‘money isn’t everything’ and while I agree to a certain extent, one thing I do value more than money, is time. Money is made and spent (preferably in that order) but once time is gone, you don’t get it back.
Do you want to spend time communing, stuck in traffic, in mindless meetings for the sake of a meeting, suffering ground hog day in an office cubical or be flexible enough to be able to spend time with family, see the kids sports events, travel whenever you want and just live life the way you want to live it? I know what I want to do.
I never write these posts to brag or to boast, but to truly highlight what is possible out there with hard work and consistent effort.
I say it every time, but it truly is a case of ‘anyone can do it’ – well to be fair, probably not anyone. You have to be determined, hard working, committed and coachable and as we all know, that’s not for everyone.
